My TAG-Ed experience:
I interned at Novelis Aluminum in the summer of 2015. I worked as a member of their Innovation Strategy team improving their intranet and created an online reliability form for their plants to utilize globally. During my internship I learned so much about software development and SharePoint. Not only that, I learned how to handle myself in a professional environment.
What I’m doing now:
I am completing my last year of high school taking classes at home and at Kennesaw State University as a dual enrollment honors student. I am also deciding where to attend university in the fall.
Future Plans:
My future plans are to study mechanical engineering with a focus in robotics in college. My internship helped me to understand what working in a professional environment is like. It helped me to learn what types of work I enjoy, how to interact with coworkers in the workplace and to what working environment suits me best.
Work/Volunteer experiences shaped by my internship:
During my internship I had to write a maintenance report describing how to maintain the form I made. This involved a lot more technical writing than I was used to, but it served me well because I use this knowledge when writing reports and essays for my robotics team.
